Marianne Half Hap Shawl

Little sister to Elinor Hap Shawl, Marianne is a half hap constructed with a bottom up central triangle, deep border and knitted on edging. There are no seams to sew as each section is worked off the previous one.

The shawl can be knit in lace-weight or 4ply yarn, in a single colour or with each section worked in a different colour; the choice is yours!

August 2023 relaunch updates the pattern instructions, the charts and the pattern layout, as well as adding new photos of a gorgeous new lace-weight sample. 

Suggested Yarn: Laceweight: RiverKnits Northampton Shear Shetland Lace (100% Shetland Wool, 350m per 50g), 2 skeins; Meadow Foxtail

For a 3-colour version yarn usage is: Central Triangle (A): 220m
Border (B): 220m
Edging (C): 210m

Needle size: 3.75 mm (US 5) 120cm circular needle 

Gauge: 10cm = 18.5 sts x 40 rows over Chart 1 Smiling Diamonds pattern after blocking (17 sts x 30 rows while pins in place)

Notions: 3 stitch markers

Size: Block to 170 cm wingspan, 82 cm to point. This relaxes to 150 x 72cm.
