Knitting for Beginners, 1 of 3Cute Stuffed Creature – Learn to cast on with the cable cast-on technique, cast off, knit, purl, ‘read’ your knitting, count your rows, work a simple seam and stuff your work.

Knitting for Beginners, 2 of 3 Bunting Learn a new cast-on; the Long Tail Cast-on, how to knit two together and yarn over. Learn how to use stitch markers, read and follow patterns.

Sock Knitting WorkshopLearn all the steps of knitting a top-down sock on double pointed needles: Cast-on, ribbing, leg, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, toe, grafting. 
 
We will be working on a scale that means you can complete the whole sock in the workshop!


 
Skills required: cast on, knit, purl, k2tog, ssk.
 
Equipment to bring: 3mm double pointed needles (you can buy these from the shop if needed), tapestry needle, 3 stitch markers. Everything else will be supplied.

Knitting for Beginners, 3 of 3Texture with Knit and Purl Learn to move between knit and purl stitches in the same row to create a variety of textures, how to cast off using both knit and purl stitches. As well as all this you will learn how understand and use charts, how to block you knitting and weave ends in invisibly.

Stranded Colourwork WorkshopLearn to work two colours at once using stranded knitting techniques in both knit and purl, read from a chart, add new colours and weave in ends to create a pincushion.



Skills required – Ability to cast-on, cast-off, use knit and purl stitches

Equipment to bring: 4mm needles (any type), tapestry needle. Everything else will be supplied.

Buxton Wool GatheringI will be exhibiting!

Buxton Wool Gathering is “a wool festival dedicated to the best of yarn, knitting, and crochet, in the gateway to the Peak District.

Finishing Techniques WorkshopLearn to block and seam your knitting to give fabulous end results. Learn to pick up stitches, make neat buttonholes and how to choose the right type of increase and decrease for your project.
 
You will be supplied with 2 pre-blocked pieces of knitting to seam which you will turn into a knitted purse by adding a buttoned flap.


 
Skills required: cast on, cast off, knit, purl.
 
Equipment to bring: 4mm needles, tapestry needle, everything else will be supplied.

Moebius Knitting WorkshopUnderstand and learn to create the unique structure of a true moebius ring and how this technique can be used for wonderful neckwear and more. Learn the Moebius cast on and create a simple headband.



Skills required: knit, purl, cast-off.

Equipment to bring: 5mm 80cm circular needle with short needle tips. This seems very specific but is essential for the workshop.
Tapestry needle, 1 stitch marker
