Twisted – A Workshop with a Twist (1 of 2)A 2-part workshop
Understand and learn to create the unique structure of a true moebius ring and how this technique can be used for wonderful neckwear and more. Learn the Moebius cast on. Learn the basic brioche stitches (brk and brp) and how to work brioche in the round. Discover the magic that happens when you work brioche in a moebius ring! This part of the workshop ends with learning a brioche increase.

£50 for both workshops, including yarn to make the mobiles brioche cowl. Book both workshops with Anne at Yarn O’clock.
Skills required: Ability to use a circular needle, knit, purl and cast off.
Equipment to bring: 80cm circular cable with SHORT 5mm tips – these can be bought at the shop if you don’t have them. 1 x 5.5mm or 6mm needle or double pointed needle (for Twisted 2 only).

Continue the cowl, learn a brioche decrease and repeat the main pattern once more, revising the brioche increase and sharing your progress with the group. Discover what happens as you cast off!

Equipment to bring: Cowl in progress on 80cm circular cable with SHORT 5mm tips. 1 x 5.5mm or 6mm needle or double pointed needle.
Continue the cowl, learn a brioche decrease and repeat the main pattern once more, revising the brioche increase and sharing your progress with the group. Discover what happens as you cast off!

Equipment to bring: Cowl in progress on 80cm circular cable with SHORT 5mm tips. 1 x 5.5mm or 6mm needle or double pointed needle.

Learn to work cables of different sizes, both with and without a cable needle, follow cable instructions in charts and written patterns. Make a swatch that can be the beginning of a cabled cowl or scarf.

£25 including yarn. Refreshments can be purchased at the shop during the workshop. Book here.

Equipment to bring: 5mm needles (straight or circular), similar size cable needle.

Introduction to Lace Knitting
Learn how to create lace knitting patterns with a surprisingly simple combination of stitches.
Learn how lace knitting ‘works’ and the main stitches used. Create a sample swatch using all these stitches and learn to follow a written lace pattern and basic chart. See the magic of ‘blocking’ lace knitting.
You’ll be able to tackle a variety of lace patterns after attending this workshop.

A week long wool festival in Welwyn Garden City’s Howard Centre with many well known independent yarn sellers and designers, displaying their latest yarns and exciting new patterns for winter, plus workshops, book signings and much more..

Preview evening – Friday 19th January 5.30 – 8.30 pm (£10 Tickets available here, which include a welcome drink)
Entry is free during the rest of the week!
