Join us for a welcoming and informative workshop led by Kath Andrews, an experienced knitwear designer known for her beautiful, thoughtful patterns and approachable teaching style.

In this session, you’ll learn the art of intarsia knitting — a versatile technique used to create bold blocks of colour and picture designs in your work.

Perfect for knitters who are confident with the basics and ready to explore colourwork, this workshop will guide you step by step in a relaxed and supportive environment.

What you’ll learn

  • How to use the intarsia technique to knit separate blocks of colour
  • How to read and follow an intarsia chart
  • How to introduce new colours neatly as you work
  • Techniques for avoiding holes where colours meet
  • Tips for keeping your yarn organised and tangle-free
  • How to weave in ends for a tidy, professional finish

What to bring

Please bring:

  • Knitting needles suitable for your yarn (typically 4–5mm for DK)
  • DK yarn in at least two contrasting colours

Don’t have suitable yarn? You can pick some up in the shop before the workshop, including a lovely selection of DK yarns ideal for colourwork.

Whether you’re keen to knit bold geometric designs, experiment with picture knitting, or simply expand your skills, this session with Kath will give you the confidence to start your intarsia journey
